  • Simon represents financiers, producers, writers, actors, and distributors in film, television, live stage and live events. Simon has a somewhat unique perspective and approach with entertainment clients having also financed and produced many entertainment projects, and having won a number of prestigious awards, including an Emmy Award, a Tony Award, two Olivier Awards, and a Sundance Award (along with many nominations).

  • Simon has represented some of the world’s leading technology companies, including Adobe, Autodesk, Intuit, Microsoft, Symantec, and Yahoo! His prior work for these companies was particularly focused on cross border transactions and related matters. Simon is looking to grow a practice advising clients on matters relating to advances in artificial intelligence.  

  • Previously, Simon was General Counsel for PriceGrabber, at the time, a leading comparison shopping platform and was instrumental in handling its sale to Experian for $485 million.

  • Simon regularly advises clients on other businesses and has extensive experience in handling due diligence in mergers and acquisitions.  

    Simon does not handle complex securities law matters, tax, business litigation or real estate matters. However, he has excellent relationships with leading lawyers practicing within these disciplines and has extensive experience overseeing and managing business disputes and litigation on behalf of clients (akin to a general counsel type role).

About Simon Horsman

Simon qualified as a UK lawyer (a solicitor) in 1992 with the UK’s preeminent corporate law firm, Slaughter & May. Simon then qualified as a California attorney, and looking to focus on the technology industry, joined Los Angeles based, Neff & Associates, a boutique law firm, which boasted many of the world’s leading software companies as clients, including: Microsoft, Intuit, Adobe, Autodesk, and Symantec, among others. Simon became a partner in the firm in 1999. When Neff & Associates merged with Greenberg Glusker in 2002, Simon elected to join Price Grabber, at the time a leading e-commerce platform, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s sale to Experian in 2005 for $485 million.  After the sale, Simon became the CEO of Future Films, at the time, a leading film finance company. In 2012, Simon facilitated a significant investment by a US investor in the UK’s leading talent agency, Independent Talent Group. He then founded Los Angeles Media Fund with Co-CEO, Jeffrey Soros, and spent the next 10 years financing and producing a wide range of entertainment projects, including feature films, documentaries, Broadway and West End shows and other live events. During this time Simon won an Emmy Award, a Tony Award, two Olivier Awards, and a Sundance Award. In addition to his law practice, Simon continues to arrange financing and to produce feature films, TV shows, documentaries and stage plays through his company, Euro Gang Entertainment LLC.
